Chapter One: Introduction
1.1 Background of the Study
Social media influencers have emerged as powerful tools for event promotion, leveraging their large followings and content creation skills to generate awareness, engage audiences, and drive attendance. In Dutse LGA, events such as cultural celebrations, business expos, and community programs rely increasingly on digital platforms to reach diverse audiences. Social media influencers play a crucial role in bridging the gap between event organizers and target demographics, using platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to amplify event visibility. However, the effectiveness of influencer marketing depends on factors such as audience alignment, authenticity, and content quality. While some events have experienced significant growth due to influencer promotion, others have faced challenges such as poor audience engagement and mismatched collaborations. This study evaluates the role of social media influencers in promoting events in Dutse LGA, exploring their impact, challenges, and best practices for effective partnerships.
